Have you ever stopped to wonder what our city looked like when the Erie Canal ran through Syracuse? Can you imagine our roads as trolley tracks?
Take a walk through history.
Join us for the Hawley-Green House Tour on Saturday, June 17th.
The Hawley-Green Historic District houses some of the earliest – and finest – residential Victorian architecture in Syracuse. This is your chance to tour the neighborhood, learn the stories behind these great buildings, and see what historic features are still inside some of the homes today.
Tours will be departing from the Quality Inn & Suites (454 James Street) at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:00 pm. Free parking is available in the hotel's parking lot. This year's route will include one property that was under construction on last year's tour, a new neighborhood business, and four other unique properties that showcase the history of the neighborhood. Tickets cost $10.00 before the event, and $15 day-of. They can be purchased either in person at NEHDA (101 Gertrude Street), or by following this link.
