Call for Art!
NEHDA and the Syracuse Northeast Community Center (SNCC) are teaming up to organize the creation of a mural for SNCC’s community garden. The proposed design should incorporate a theme of “connectivity” and be submitted to NEHDA either in person (101 Gertrude Street) or via email to Rachel (email@example.com) by April 28th.
SNCC's community garden is located next to the Community Center at 716 Hawley Ave. The mural will be painted on the cement foundation of the house next to the garden (dimensions indicated below).
The garden brings people together - Seniors work alongside youth, visiting volunteers help with upkeep, and different cultures all recognize the value of fresh produce. That is why we are asking for all mural designs to be centered around the idea of "connectivity."
In order for mural proposals to be considered, both the Artist Waiver and RFP must be downloaded, completed, and delivered by April 28. Proposals can either be hand-delivered to the NEHDA offices at 101 Gertrude Street, or emailed to Rachel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All proposals will be initially judged against a predetermined rubric, which takes into account cost, level of difficulty, design elements, and additional factors. Once it has been narrowed down to the final designs, there will be open community voting held at SNCC. The winning mural design will be announced to the public on Saturday, May 13.
